Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!

July 24–August 16, 2026 | Williams Theatre
An Original Tulsa Performing Arts Center Production

Experience the sweeping romance, unforgettable music, and community spirit of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!right here in Tulsa.

Following the acclaimed success of Ragtime and Fiddler on the Roof, the Tulsa Performing Arts Center continues its tradition of Broadway-caliber storytelling with heart, bringing this iconic American musical to life with a fresh sense of place, purpose, and celebration.

Directed by Pete Otis, with music direction by Cathy Venable and choreography by Jen Alden, Oklahoma! will be more than a show, it will be a shared experience. From live pre-show entertainment to optional add-ons like a classic Oklahoma BBQ meal, every performance is designed as a joyful community gathering.

Proudly part of the Route 66 Centennial, this landmark production honors the stories and traditions that connect Oklahoma to the nation and to each other.

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s first collaboration remains, in many ways, their most innovative, setting the standards and rules of modern musical theatre. In a Western territory just after the turn of the 20th century, a high-spirited rivalry between local farmers and cowboys provides a colorful background for Curly, a charming cowboy, and Laurey, a feisty farm girl, to play out their love story. Their romantic journey, as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road, contrasts with the comic exploits of brazen Ado Annie and hapless Will Parker in a musical adventure embracing hope, determination and the promise of a new land.

OKLAHOMA! is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization.

Pre-Show Oklahoma BBQ & Live Entertainment Experience

Make your night at Oklahoma! a true celebration of place, flavor, and community with our authentic pre-show Oklahoma BBQ dinner experience, hosted at the TPAC Norman Theater before the curtain rises.

Guests are invited to gather early and enjoy a relaxed, welcoming evening inspired by wide-open country hospitality. The BBQ dinner features slow-smoked pulled pork and pulled chicken, served alongside classic Southern sides including baked beans, creamy mashed potatoes, and Texas toast, comforting, hearty, and unmistakably Oklahoma.

But this is more than a meal; it’s a full sensory experience. From the mouthwatering aroma of wood-smoked barbecue to the casual, communal atmosphere, the evening is designed to bring people together. Share great food, strike up conversations, and soak in the spirit of the land that inspired the musical itself.

The experience continues with live pre-show entertainment celebrating cowboy heritage and Route 66, featuring performances by local musicians. Guests can relax at picnic tables, lounge on hay bales, snap photos at a themed selfie station, and enjoy the sounds and stories that set the stage for the performance ahead.

Rooted in tradition and rich with character, the Oklahoma BBQ experience is a tribute to the region’s love of good food, craftsmanship, and shared moments and the perfect way to begin your evening at Oklahoma!.
