Any Given Child

Tulsa is one of a handful of cities across the nation now participating in the Kennedy Center’s Any Given Child program. In partnership with Tulsa Public Schools, the Mayor’s Office, and 11 additional partner arts organizations in Tulsa, we ensure Tulsa students have at least nine live arts experiences by the time they reach high school.

The Tulsa Performing Arts Center is pleased to offer TPS kindergarten and seventh grade students a free live theatre performance experience as part of the Any Given Child Program.

Aesop’s Greatest Hits

Join us for a romp through Aeasop’s most beloved tales, produced specifically with kindergarteners in mind. Color, creativity, joy and laughs come together for this amazing show, with a few lessons learned along the way.

Channeling Our Ancestors

An educational and entertaining piece of art created, written and performed by local Native Americans, Channeling Our Ancestors focuses on the themes of Native identity, appropriation, and the connection of generations, bringing heritage and traditions forward into modern life.

Channeling Our Ancestors Casting for 2025

Channeling Our Ancestors is an original production from the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, created by Indigenous Oklahoman artists that explores themes of identity, appropriation, the connection of generations, and bringing heritage and traditions forward into modern life. Through a series of comedic sketches based on popular TV show tropes, audiences will be entertained and educated on what it means to be an Indigenous person in today’s society. This production will be performed for Tulsa Public Schools 7th graders, as well as one public performance.  

DETAILS: This is a paid opportunity through the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Tech week is October 27th-November 2nd. Performances are the week of November 3rd to November 8th. Actors will need to be available on select nights and weekends during the month of October for rehearsals and workshops.

SEEKING: A cast of 5 Native American and Indigenous actors and dancers of all gender identities — playing around 20 characters between them. Searching for energetic and collaborative performers with strong improv skills. Experience inTYA is preferred, but not required.

WHAT TO SUBMIT:

  •  A 1-minute contemporary comedic OR TYA monologue. Any relevant performance footage will also be considered. If you are a dancer (Fancy, Grass, Traditional, Jingle, etc.) and you’d like to share, we welcome that footage as well.
