The Discovery Awards
Presented in partnership with Celebrity Attractions, the Discovery Awards highlight and award excellence in high school musical theatre. Professional arts adjudicators attend participating high school musicals and nominate the best performers from each production. In the spring, all nominees attend a week-long masterclass workshop led by award-winning creatives, ending in a showcase competition on stage at the Tulsa PAC.
The overall best female and male performers win an all-expense paid trip to represent Eastern Oklahoma in New York City. Once there, they participate in another week-long masterclass workshop led by award-winning creatives and ultimately compete nationally, on a Broadway stage, in front of Broadway producers and directors at the Jimmy® Awards, otherwise known as The National High School Musical Theatre Awards® in the summer. Winners receive a cash scholarship.
This year’s Discovery Awards will take place on May 29 at 6 pm!

If you’re passionate about the performing arts and want to help recognize and celebrate the incredible work of local students, we’d love to have you join us!
There will be an Adjudicator Training Session held via Zoom on Tuesday, October 1 at 6pm. A recording of the session will be made available for those unable to attend live. To receive information about this mandatory training session, Adjudicator candidates MUST submit the form linked below.
